The American Craft Council Brings a Culturally Diverse Marketplace Online

States Schultz, “When our Atlanta program was canceled, we went back to our Minnesota workplace prepared to strike the ground running on a plan to support American makers through an online marketplace. The resulting Craft Week is both a market and an event of craft, allowing everybody to experience the pleasure that handmade objects and making can bring to their lives.
Through Craft Week, we aim to support and amplify the work maker neighborhoods are doing to dismantle, mend, and heal in our modern lives. ACC employed Corey Pemberton of Crafting the Future and Morgan Walker of Make Do Market to invite brand-new BIPOC makers to participate in Craft Week. Of the artists that will be featured in Craft Week, 30 percent are BIPOC and brand-new to ACC.
